Will President Obama, a majority Democrat and a few Republican legislators on Capitol Hill recognize America is in economic strife, and then start to act appropriately? Organized Labor has injured and/or destroyed many in businesses by insistent increased pay raises and other benefits that prohibit American businesses from competing in the marketplace. When businesses close or relocate to other nations, local jobs are lost. Organized Labor is unwilling to compromise in decreased wages and benefits, even at the price of destroying the local businesses and/or our own US economy.
Organized Labor, with the support of a Democrat Party majority and a few Republicans on Capitol Hill are pushing for new legislation named ‘Employee Free Choice Act’ which will abolish the ‘secret ballot’ in union elections. Naming this legislation ‘Employee Free Choice Act’ is equivalent to chickens being mandated to call Kentucky Fried Chicken or Chick-fil-A a secure home.
This legislation will force a ‘Union’ without an election, if a majority of employees merely sign ‘union cards’. Can you imagine the heaviness by labor organizers demanding fellow employees to sign ‘union cards’? Businesses and employees must be preserved the right of a ‘secret ballot’?
The ‘secret ballot’ should be a ‘legal right’ on this issue. This proposed legislation is ‘pay to play’ for Organized Labor and against individual freedoms, and our US economy. What is next? Will legislators then begin an effort to deny elections for elected offices, based on political party voter registration alone? Please, conserve the ‘secret ballot’.
